근현대 한국음악사 연구의 재조명 및 제언
한국 근현대사는 다양한 정치ㆍ사회적 변화가 있었고 이러한 시대적 변화는 한국문화예술사에 큰 영향 을 미쳤다. 따라서 한국 근현대사의 시대적 변화를 반영한 근현대 한국음악사의 시대구분에 대한 보다 활발한 논의가 필요하다. 근현대 한국음악사 연구에 활용되는 자료로는 신문ㆍ잡지 등의 문서 자료, 명인의 구술과 같이 구전되어 전해지다가 문자로 기록된 구술 자료, 유성기음반과 같이 문자로 되지 않은 유물 및 유적 등 실물 자료로 나눌 수 있다. 송방송의 증보한국음악통사(2007)에 활용된 근현대 음악사 연구 자료는 이전에 출판된 한국음악사에서 검토했던 것보다 자료의 유형과 내용이 훨씬 다양해졌다. 새로 발굴 된 원전 자료와 학술ㆍ공연ㆍ창작 등의 연구 결과물이 근현대 한국음악사에서 구체적으로 소개되었기 때문이다. 이러한 그의 노력은 근현대 한국음악사 연구에서 역사적 기록을 바탕으로 한 심도 있는 실증적 연구를 가능케 하였다. 최근까지 근현대 한국음악사에서 주요 연구 주제와 집필 항목은 국립국악원, 국립극 장 등 국악 기관과 단체에 관한 것이었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 향후 근현대 한국음악사를 보다 입체적으 로 그려내기 위해서는 집필 항목을 국악 활동 영역(공연ㆍ교육ㆍ학술ㆍ창작ㆍ비평), 국악 유통(공연장ㆍ대 중매체ㆍ축제 및 경연 대회ㆍ음악교류), 국악 보존(박물관ㆍ악기 제작ㆍ아카이브) 등으로 확대하고 체계화 할 필요가 있음을 제언하였다. 더불어 근현대 한국음악사의 다양한 변화의 원인과 결과를 이해하는 데 있어 문화예술정책, 국악정책 및 관련 법령 등을 함께 기술하는 것이 효과적임을 제시하였다.
Re-examination and Suggestions for the Study of the Modern and Contemporary Music History of Korea
There were various political and social changes in the modern and contemporary history of Korea, and these changes in the times had a great influence on the history of Korean culture and art. Therefore, it is necessary to have a more active discussion on the division of the period in the modern and contemporary Korean music history that reflects the changes of the times in the modern and contemporary history of Korea. Materials used in the study of the modern and contemporary music history of Korea are divided into documents such as newspapers and magazines, oral materials, and real materials such as relics. The modern and contemporary music history research materials used in Song Pang-song’s jeung-bo-han-gug-eum-ag-tong-sa (2007 revision) are much more diverse in type and content than those used in the previous Korean modern and contemporary music history. This is because the newly discovered original materials and research results such as academics, performances, and creations have been actively introduced in the modern and contemporary Korean music history. His efforts made it possible to conduct an in-depth empirical study based on historical records in the study of modern and contemporary Korean music history. Until recently, major research topics and writings of the modern and contemporary music history of Korea have been about traditional music institutions and organizations such as the National Gugak Center and the National Theater of Korea. Therefore, in this thesis, in order to explain the modern and contemporary music history of Korea in more detail in the future, the writing items are Korea traditional music activities (performance, education, academic, creation, and criticism), distribution of Korea traditional music (performance halls, mass media, festivals and competitions, and music exchange), and preservation of Korea traditional music (museum, musical instrument production, archive), etc., were suggested to be expanded and systematized. In addition, it was suggested that it is effective to describe culture and arts policy, Korean traditional music policy, and related laws and regulations in order to understand the causes and consequences of various changes in modern and contemporary Korean music history.
